Meal Planning Monday
Hey there. It’s Monday and I am gonna start a weekly meal planning session. I hope that this will make me more accountable. Hehe. I LOVE planning our meals because it helps us with the grocery budget and I also know we will be eating nutritious foods. We have recently been switching to less processed food and eating food the way the God intended us to. It is a slooow process but I feel good about it. One baby step at a time, right?! This way leaves me less discouraged for sure. (If you have more questions about this leave them in the comments section and Mr. King and I will answer them as best we can.) [UPDATE] Oh and feel free to download and use the menu I put together here. Or just click the picture!

I try to plan on Sunday the weekly dinners. Rotate chicken, meat, fish, etc. It is easier to have a notebook of ideas for me to look over. lunch for us is whatever you find in the fridge (usually lunchmeat). also on Wednesday nights I just started a class at EFree “Cooking for Thirty Days” – I am hoping it gives great tips on planning.

Thanks Kate! I have also thought about having a “themed” night for dinners like you mentioned. And cooking in bulk is AWESOME, can’t wait to hear what you think!
Love this and crazy timing…. I was just googling meal planning then jumped to fb and saw this. I have started and stopped meal planning so many times:(. It’s hard for me because innate lots of food allergies so the rest of fam doesn’t neccesarily want to follow my eating! If u share recipes I would love yours for tortillas and breakfast cake! I stopped buying cereal a long time ago so love new breakfast ideas for the kids! I made tortillas once but they tasted awful!!!
Oh and the bar recipe:)
Amy, thanks for your comment. I have tweaked my tortilla recipe and we gobble them up now so I would love to share it with you. That is something I am working on.
Way to go on NO cereals by the way!
I’m always up for new meal ideas and love to plan the week out too! Thanks for sharing; I enjoy reading your blog. Now you need to post some of these yummy receipes
This is fantastic! I strive to be more organized like this. Since I work three nights out of the week, I know Randy would appreciate it if a dinner plan was in order. Kris, can you please post some of the recipes that you have planned. I know we love organic peanut butter and banana sandwiches at our house for lunches. I am always looking for healthy meal ideas for the kiddios!
Ames, thanks for reading! I hope to put up recipes soon… also I think you will LOVE meal planning. It helps us in sooo many ways. Love ya friend.
